1. Stay inside and bake yummy treats!
This one you can never go wrong with. Our furry friends are always up for a tasty treat! Instead of going out in the cold, hang out with your pup inside and get to baking. There are tons of cool recipes on the internet for easy, affordable, home-made dog treats. For example, you could whip up some savory bacon-peanut butter bones, or some sweet pupcakes!

2. Make some DIY Christmas Ornaments! For a fun way to do something festive with your pup, create some cool Christmas tree decorations together! Like in the picture above, you could make a salt-dough puppy paw print ornament. It’s super easy, all you need is some dough, and a furry puppy paw! These are even more special, because you will have something to remind you of your best friend, forever.

3. Take a snow-filled hike! Although we may not always be super excited to embrace the cold, our dogs love it! Dogs love to investigate and sniff out new environments. With snow, comes new smells, textures, and temperatures. Hence why they enjoy rolling in it/ running through it so much. Snow is just one big toy for them to play with!

4. Take pictures with Santa! During the holiday season, there are lots of places you can take your pups to get pictures made with Santa! How cute is that? Some pictures turn out totally adorable, and others will make you laugh for days. Either way, it makes for a great picture, and it would also create some awesome memories too!

5. Cuddles and a movie marathon! Although this may be the most simple on the list, it still is a great way to spend the day with your pup. Believe it or not, some dogs really enjoy watching T.V. Netflix even offers a variety of dog movies such as ‘Bolt’, ‘Hotel for Dogs’, ‘Benji’, and many more! So turn on a good movie, get the snacks, and cuddle up with your dog for the day.

These are just a few of the fun things you can do with your pup this winter! At the end of the day, your dog really just enjoys any time he/she gets to spend with you. It’s simple. We don’t always think about it, but our dog’s worlds revolve around us. Even if they don’t need too much to be happy, we should still take the time out of our day to spend a little quality time with them. Whether that’s inside or outside, your dog will love it either way! It’s the thought that counts, and they will be forever grateful for the time spent.

Meet Bigsby and Alvin … totally unrelated dogs, completely different breeds, but so adorably similar that Bigsby could pass as a “mini-me” version of Alvin. We have several special pairs of dogs like this, so we decided to do a blog series on the duos. These two handsome boys are our first installment.

Hello Indy dogs and friends. We’re Rupac and Owsley. We’re both 2 years old boys and are Rottweiler mixes. Today is kind of a sad day. This is technically our last Friday at Good Dog Daycare. We’ve been coming here for over a year. Half of our life has been spent with the amazing people here. They’ve seen us grow from pup to dog.

WHY is it our last Friday? …Glad you asked. You see, we’re moving to another state next week. It’s scary and exciting all at the same time. Our parents decided to move, so we’re along for the ride. We can only hope our parents will find as awesome a doggie daycare as Good Dog. We’ll also miss Indianapolis.

We are both really big and super playful. You could say we are definitely a presence when we enter daycare. However, we are NOT aggressive. We’re energetic. We made a deal that we wouldn’t act like some brothers or brother/sister pairs. We’ve seen some that are kinda mean and act like “bullies,” ganging up on other dogs. Nope. We don’t like that. We’d rather be friends and playmates with the dogs we’re around everyday. That’s how we’ve been able to become best friends with Clyde, Favory, and Max Ford. (We’ll miss you so, so much!)

We’re the type of dogs that can really control a room. The energy level increases as soon as we come to daycare, but in a good way…probably because we don’t really lay down that much. We’d rather go, go, go and play, play, play. And now we’re on the move…quite literally.

Well, Good Dog ~ we’ll miss you. We promise to send photos of the new places we end up, and we promise to send photos of us as we grow up. The new doggy daycare will have big shoes to fill. Thank you for loving us and caring for us all this time!

Hi there! It’s Friday and I am one happy pooch! My name is Dexter Wallace!  I’m a 2 and a 1/2 year old, Chesapeake Mix.  I’ve been coming to Good Dog Hotel doggie daycare for about a year and a half. Now, if you think about it, that’s really like ten and a half years for me. Whoa.

I’m not originally from Indianapolis. I’m actually from DC, but I really love Broadripple because there are so many dogs to play with. I’m pretty social so I’m all about playing and being friendly with all the dogs and staff here at the doggie daycare…for the most part.  (yes, I can be moody…can’t we ALL?)

The funny thing about me is I can fall asleep anywhere. The staff over here at Good Dog Hotel are always taking snaps of me napping in random spots. Here’s one of those shots.

As you can see, I’m a big dog, so I pretty much stay in the big dog area, but sometimes…just sometimes…I wonder what it would be like to play with all those little dogs on the other side of the fence. It seems like they are always hootin’ and hollarin’ and making all sorts of commotion. Uh, I mean, they’re having all sorts of fun!

Well, truly, big or small, we ALL have fun here at doggie daycare.

Hey everyone! My name is Annie Lagrotte. I’m a 4 year-old Great Pyrenees. I’ve often been told I have beautiful long white fur, which could be the reason why I am MY OWN WOMAN. I have to admit, I don’t really like everyone I meet. It just takes me a while to warm up to people.

At Good Dog, there is a staff member named Lucas. Everyone LOVES Lucas, but no, not me. He has this crazy, curly blonde hair. (Okay, so I may be a little jealous…whatever.) I just don’t like him that much. I’ll let the other dogs love on him. Maybe I’m just a rebel.

I have a brother. His name is Soldier. I’m VERY protective of him. Same goes with my mommy. I’m just as protective of her. I feel as though some pooch needs to be responsible for them, so I don’t mind taking that responsibility. I love them very much. I also LOVE Lauren, in Good Dog’s Daycare. I liked her the moment I met her.

I’m really not that playful. I like to think I have a bit of dignity and grace to me. Honestly, I’m a princess and everyone needs to know that. I’m not one for silliness or games, and it is highly unlikely for me to EVER act inappropriately. After all, I have a reputation to uphold.

I’m also pretty tall. I almost reign over all my doggie subjects in Daycare, but in a motherly protective way. I never move fast, always walk slow and never rush because I don’t feel there is a big hurry to do things. Life is sweet and should be taken in.

But, at the end of the day, I am unfailingly loyal and protective. I love being at Good Dog!

Sammy & Batrholomew2Hey there! My name is Bartholomew Summers. I’m just over year old and I’m a Miniature Dachshund. Good Dog Doggie Daycare has changed my life. Before I started coming here, my dog years were pretty great because I have an amazing family who loves me and gives me treats. But it was at Good Dog, where I met my bestest friend in the ENTIRE world, Sammy! Now my doggie years are EXCEPTIONAL!

Sammy Clevenger is my age. He’s a cool King Charles Spaniel. We actually started coming to Good Dog Hotel and Spa Daycare pretty close to the same time. Even though we’re not from the same family, it’s as if we’re brothers from another mother. Our birthdays are even in the same month!
We’re both pretty small, and we’re both white with light brown coloring.

Sammy always jokes around with me and says “you’re too small to be acting like a Great Dane!” We always get a kick out of that because I know I sometimes act like I’m too big for my britches. But it’s all in fun.

sammy & Bartholomew2ndMe and Sammy play together and nap together ALL the time! We make friends very easily and let other dogs into our “little dog club” often. We really like Sasha, Holden, and Ollie! They’re all a part of our club too!

We’d love to meet YOUR dog! Bring him on over and we’ll invite them to play with us too!
