GENERAL SUMMARY:

This team member supports Good Dog through attentive, vigilant care and observation of all daycare dogs, assuring that every guest has a safe and fun experience. This position shows a commitment to learn about dog behaviors and welcomes and seeks out advice from those with more experience in this department. This position also maintains a calm and pleasing environment for all dogs, removing those dogs which pose a risk to other daycare guests.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All persons in daycare to have a slip lead worn on body & a two-way radio
  • Dogs are never to be left unattended at any time in the daycare or potty yard
  • Fully participate and interact with dogs providing a FUN & pleasing environment for dogs
  • Use each dog’s name when interacting for affection or correction
  • Work as a team with other daycare & hotel attendants scheduled at the same time
  • Inform management of any concerns for dogs’ health or well-being immediately
  • Provide daycare services according to safety procedures taught by trainer
  • Assess dogs throughout the day to prevent incidents by providing fatigued, tired, or too hyper dogs a time-out break
  • Manage the dogs according to temperament and activity levels, and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Dogs determined to not be a good fit for daycare must be reported to management
  • Dogs are to be corrected firmly and respectfully with verbal commands or removed from area with slip lead
  • Zero tolerance for harsh interaction, abuse, or neglect of any dog. No yelling at dogs.
  • All dogs listed on erase board. Treats, food, or services to be written by dog’s name
  • Any dog moved temporarily to a crate or suite to have its location and time written on board
  • All leashes or other belongings to be placed in cubby bins corresponding to # on board
  • Water bowls to be filled all day, blankets available in each daycare area
  • Floors to be dry, clean, free of urine, feces or hair
  • Mop bucket water to be changed frequently
  • All plastic dog crates to be kept clean throughout the day, check for urine etc.
  • Inform management of any client concerns
  • Meet and exceed customers’ service expectations
  • All dogs to be returned to owners with a smile and a thank you and all items brought out!!!

 

CLOSING DUTIES:

  • All hair to be swept up before mopping
  • All water bowls and toys to be washed daily with bleach and dish liquid
  • All towels and blankets to be taken to laundry
  • All trash to be emptied from cans
  • All plastic crates clean
  • Floors mopped with clean bleach/disinfectant water

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Alert and responsible, vigilant care and attention given to all guests
  • Good communication skills (grammar, voice and diction)
  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)
  • Cooperative with staff, must follow specific instructions from Matt & other management, and incorporate this information in every action while monitoring the daycare

Ability to recognize and defuse any potential problems either with dog behavior, health, or belongings, and must report any concerns to Matt or management immediately.
  • Must be familiar with all services available, and customer base
  • Detail-oriented; very observant of animal behavior and changes
  • Accepts direction well and learns quickly
  • Dedicated to the health and welfare of animals, with genuine compassion
  • Zero tolerance for animal abuse or neglect of guests

THIS POSITION OFFERS:

  • $11-$12/hr with a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This team member supports Good Dog through the pet hotel functions, ensuring that every guest has a safe, well-tended to experience.
This position is responsible for care and safety of all hotel guests and reporting any concerns to Matt & management team. This position also ensures that all dogs receive medications, meals, services requested, a clean suite & bedding, and that other specific needs are met.In addition, it is the responsibility of this position to make sure that all luggage of each dog is accounted for, and returned clean.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide attentive care and concern for all hotel guests, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Execute all duties on shift duty list in the order listed and in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize common sense and responsive care to all guests and unique or specific needs
  • Monitor condition and well-being of all hotel guests throughout the day and report any health concerns or changes to management
  • Ensure that all medications are administered
  • Ensure that all luggage is accounted for and returned clean
  • Ensure that all guests are checked throughout the day for cleanliness, and place on Bath List if not in good condition, and given free bath and/or cleaning prior to checkout.
  • Communicate effectively with daycare and assist them when requested
  • Maintain clean working environment at all times in the hotel, kitchen, and hallways
  • Be proactive in assessing needs of each dog, and offering a solution (i.e. lonely, etc.)
  • Ensure dishes and laundry are always being kept up to date and work space is orderly
  • The hotel and the work areas such as the kitchen MUST BE TOUR READY AT ALL TIMES
  • Foster a pleasant environment for all guests and fellow staff
  • NO HARSH LANGUAGE OR TREATMENT OF ANY DOG AT ANY TIME WILL BE TOLERATED. IF SO, MAY BE TERMINATED AT MANAGEMENT’S DISCRETION.
  • Must always speak to guests and other staff in the potty yard appropriately, aware that all discussion can be heard by those on the Monon Trail

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)
  • Excellent communication skills with other staff and management
  • Prior dog knowledge and experience preferred
  • Alert, attentive, and compassionate toward all hotel and daycare guests
  • Executes all duties with a sense of urgency and efficient use of time
  • Accepts direction well and utilizes this information at all times
  • Performs duties as directed and trained and does not create a “new way” of completing tasks

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Language skills – ability to read and interpret documents such as run cards, duty list and special work instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with other staff members and customers.

  • Reasoning ability – ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to detect a potential problem with our guests or the facility and pass this information on to management immediately.

  • Must be familiar with all services provided as well as our customer base and their expectations
  • Detail-oriented; very observant of animal behavior and changes
  • Listens to and follows directions provided by management
  • Dedicated to the health and welfare of animals, with genuine compassion
  • Zero tolerance for animal abuse and neglect of guests
  • Care of and tracking of guests’ belongings, food and/or medicines
  • All personal items of our guests returned and in clean condition

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Front Desk attendants are the front line of Good Dog Hotel & Spa and MUST exemplify the Good Dog culture at all times to our clients and our guests. Polite, courteous, professional, pleasant, accommodating, solution oriented, humble and appreciative behavior is required at ALL times with our clients. Must demonstrate enthusiasm with EACH dog that arrives, especially hotel guests. The Front Desk Associates must be able to multi-task, focus on each task at hand, be detail oriented and appreciate the need for accuracy and clear, complete communication with clients, and all staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Address and greet each client and their dog upon entering Good Dog Hotel and Spa with a pleasant, professional, and enthusiastic demeanor. Professional and helpful assistance.
  • Ensure that information is correct on all reservations upon check in, making a note of any unique needs or concerns.
  • Communicate clearly with other departments to ensure accurate service and care provided to all guests.
  • Answer all phone calls promptly when possible
  • Responsible for all run cards, name tag collars, checking in all belongings accurately, and medication information given by client
  • Adjust reservations with the hotel to ensure maximum capacity
  • Phone clients to confirm reservations & appointments
  • Check and return all emails accordingly
  • Keep Self Serve Bathing area clean and well stocked
  • Maintain cleanly and well stocked bathrooms

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal skills are essential, as well as an understanding and appreciation for the need to provide ‘high end’ customer service at all times.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally effectively and pleasantly with all clients and staff at all times
