Broad Ripple Good Dog Hotel Staff

Hello, I go by the name of Lucas… not Luke. I’ve worked at this fine establishment for over 5 years now, since I was a mere 14 years of age. Since I’ve been born I’ve grown up with 4-5 dogs in my household at all times. My main hobby outside of work is going for nice long runs, you may recognize me from the Monon Trail. I have participated in several marathons around town and aspire to become a professional marathon runner!  Overall, I’ve been known as a peacemaker that takes great strides to live life to the fullest.
Hello, my name is Brittany! I recently moved here to Indianapolis from a small town by the name of Wabash. I am currently a student at Herron School of Art and Design were I am studying painting as my major. I just recently adopted a tiny baby pug named Bigsby who you  may have seen from time to time in daycare. I have always had a strong love for my four legged friends and I am extremely thankful to have found a job that allows me to spend each day with happy wagging tails!
Hello! My name is Ashleigh. I am a new member here at Good Dog and I absolutely love it! I graduated from Southport High last  year and started with the Good Dog family in June 2011. I am currently attending Ball State University where I  study Nursing. I love being able to come back to Good Dog on my breaks and see all my favorite dogs again!  I love working in daycare and seeing all of the dogs’ personalities shine! It really makes my day to play with them in the morning. We have such a great pack of dogs!
Hi, my name is Jenny Smith, and I just celebrated 5 years of working at Good Dog! I moved to Indy from Marion, IN about 7 years ago. It wasn’t until I got to the big city that I knew hotels for dogs even existed, then my parents brought our two boxers to Good Dog for some training classes, and I knew it was the place for me! Getting to be with these dogs everyday, seeing a lot of them grow from puppies, has been such a privilege. Working here also brought me to my dog, Pixie, who came in as a stray. I have made great friends, human and canine, and hope to be here for a long time to come!
David St. Pierre graduated from Broadripple High School quite a while ago. He then went on to the Herron Art Institute and majored in art & music. He’s had some of his art work displayed at Good Dog Hotel & Spa in the past. In our Jan. 29th blog is a picture of one of his favorite art works that he painted. David is a retired mortician but has always had a love for dogs. When he retired, he wanted to work with dogs and found out about Good Dog Hotel & Spa. He frequented the place several times, until he got to know one of the managers and got himself the job he always wanted. David does the one-on-one’s at Good Dog. He comes to work EVERYDAY, rain or shine, 7 days a week, since he started working here in 2006. In his one-on-one room; David has toys, treats, and plays music for the dogs. He is quickly able to tell when a dog is nervous, scared, or anxious about being away from home. It comes as a natural gift to him to make sure the dogs feel comfortable, loved, and safe while they stay here at Good Dog. The best thing about him, is that he loves each and every dog. Some have even compared him to the Dog Whisperer.
Hi! My name is Travis. I’m 27 years old and I’m originally from Kansas City, MO. I moved to Indianapolis, IN in 2004. I’ve loved dogs ever since I was a child. My family always took in strays from our neighborhood. The only thing I dislike about working at Good Dog Hotel & Spa is not being able to take all the dogs home!! I love all dogs but my favorite is the “Bully Breed” dogs, specifically Pit Bulls. I am very passionate about animal rights and I think that many dogs are just misunderstood!
Hi! My Name is Rebecca Carter.I grew up in a VERY small town in Northwest Indiana. After college I moved to Indianapolis. As an only child with a sensitive, emotional nature… dogs always played a very important part in my life. I’ve been closer to more dogs through the years than I probably have been to most people! I worked for state government for about 34 years, and while working I earned a master’s degree. I took early retirement at age 55, and I’ve worked for Good Dog Hotel and Spa for close to 3 years. I hope to be here for the rest of my working days. >>Read More

I love music and going to concerts and traveling. I also spend a lot of my free time cooking! It’s hard to say what breed of dog is my favorite, they all have something different to love! My dog’s name is Seymour and I rescued him and brought him in as a stray.  He is a wonderful mix of many things that made one cute, crazy looking dog! I would have to say my favorite thing about Good Dog is being able to spend time with all the dogs everyday! The staff is also pretty awesome!
Hi! My Name is Chad! I have been working at Good Dog for over two years and I love it! I work with a pack of 50 Dogs and it is very gratifying to see their personalities blossom. Every day is different from the last. When I’m not at work I take my two dogs, Domino and Merlin, biking or on long walks. They also love to go camping with me. Most of the staff have dogs, and they all get along as a small family. I feel very fortunate to have so much love and support!
Hi! My name is Mandy, and I’ve loved animals since I was a toddler. One of my very first words was “dog”! I am the proud owner of a rescued Wheaten – Bella and a Cockapoo named Watson. Most recently, my family adopted an angel named Reagan through Good Dog. Reagan is almost one year old, and she is a beautiful German Shorthaired Pointer.
My husband and our friends suggested I work at Good Dog while going back to school. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me!! Nothing makes me happier than spending time with our dogs in daycare and hotel!
Hi! My name is Kris Zakula and I’ve worked here since January 2011. I work the front desk. I grew up in the small town of Shipshewana and recently moved to Indianapolis with my husband. We have a very sweet dog named Lali and a cat who is her best bud named Evie. I came to Good Dog to get away from the stress of Retail Management and have loved it here ever since! I love getting to know all the dogs and always come home with a story of my new favorite dog that day!

My dog’s name is Diego and he’s a “fluffy Pit-mix”. I think he’s mixed with either Chow or Golden Retriever. Either way, he’s very sweet! I grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from the Hope Academy in 2009. Dogs have always been a big part of my life and this job is just perfect for me!

Hi everyone! My name is Chris McClure, but my co-workers refer to me as Mr. Chris. I started at Good Dog in February 2011, so I just celebrated my one-year anniversary. I usually work in the hotel doing deep cleaning after the dogs leave, but I recently started working in daycare and love it!! My favorite thing is playing with all the big dogs and throwing the ball around — I love watching them have a great time! I’m originally from Cloves, New Mexico. When I’m not at work I love to go fishing. I don’t have any dogs, but I have lots of favorites around here. I especially love the Pit Bulls who come into daycare!

I have two dogs, a two year old Boxer named Ramona, and a 7 month old Pit Bull Marla. I have always loved dogs, and am blessed to work here at Good Dog. I love all dogs and enjoy the wonderful people I work with.
